ORA™ releases it new patented technology – WNE® system – the founding stone of a revolutionary range of innovative and ultra-reliable PET synthesizers

Philippeville, Belgium, June 8th June 2013 / Optimized Radiochemical Applications (ORA™) today announced the release of its new patented technology: WNE® system. This technology allows the design of 3-position pneumatic actuator that will be equipping the new 2013 range of NEPTIS® synthesizers: NEPTIS® perform, NEPTIS® mosaic-RS and NEPTIS® mosaic-LC.

Recent trends in the development of new PET diagnostic tracers require more complex chemistries.  They in turn necessitate almost unlimited flexibility for the fluid pathway design.  The 3-position pneumatic actuator system is the effective solution for this, removing all constraints on the fluid pathway design.  Further, this system is more compact by 25% compared to traditional actuator technology.

In a radioactive environment, long term reliability of components is essential.  While electrically-driven actuator systems are susceptible to radiation, pneumatic systems provide unmatched reliability.  The WNE® system guarantees accurate positioning of the 3-position actuators, essentially.  Unlike electrically-driven actuators, there is no need for any electronic logic control system.  Only pneumatic pressure is required for their operation.

WNE® system is the founding stone of the revolutionary range of innovative and ultra-reliable NEPTIS® PET synthesizers. This new 2013 range consists of the following models, all equipped with 3-position pneumatic actuators:

  • NEPTIS® perform, a integrated synthesizer with HPLC and SPE reform for advanced and complex tracers
  • NEPTIS® mosaic-RS, a compact synthesizer compatible with all available ABX kits for generic tracers
  • NEPTIS® mosaic-LC, an ultra-compact synthesizer to optimize running production costs

ORA™ is exhibiting at booth number #1500 at the Society for Nuclear Medicine (SNM) Annual Meeting 2013 from 8-12 June in Vancouver, Canada.
